Dr. Kristina Petrović
Dr. Kristina Petrović is a distinguished researcher at the BioSense Institute, University of Novi Sad, and the project management coordinator at the Maize Research Institute in Belgrade. As an expert plant pathologist, she specializes in plant-pathogen interactions, disease resistance, and pest and weed management, collaborating with breeders and using advanced sensing technologies to drive innovation. Kristina has published 103 articles, including 25 in peer-reviewed journals, holds 15 patents, and developed one technical solution. She supervises four PhD students and one postdoctoral researcher across Serbia, the U.S., and Germany.
Her multidisciplinary expertise includes initiating innovations, strategic planning, and project management, fostering collaborations with R&D institutions in Serbia, the EU, the U.S., China, and Australia, and successfully transforming ideas into project proposals. Kristina’s creativity and dedication have secured three Horizon Europe projects worth €7 million, and she is currently managing two of them, showcasing her leadership skills.
Beyond her professional achievements, Kristina has invested in a family restaurant PETROSA, where she applies her extensive knowledge and skills from research and innovation projects. Balancing a demanding career and family life, she is a mother of three who manages to find time for friends, travel, and cultural exploration. An animal lover and dedicated volunteer, she supports the Balkan Puppy Hub, reflecting her compassionate and community-oriented spirit.
